Valiant's flying start en route to derby bragging rights

Valiant easily won the Knowle derby against Tenacity in the second tier of the Portsmouth & District League, romping to an 8-2 success.

Valiant got off to a flier with Alan Baldwin beating John Cooper, Geraldine Morle beating John McMonagle and Ray Jarratt beating Barry Diaper - all in three sets.
The only consolation for Tenacity was Cooper's wins over Jarratt and Morle, both in three sets, to save the whitewash.
Baldwin and Jarratt finished with a doubles victory over Cooper and Diaper in four sets.
