October 23, 2025

Dawie Groenewald, who faces more than 1 600 charges related to rhino poaching, is expected to appear in court again - despite currently being allowed international travel under his bail conditions.

- Barry Viljoen

Groenewald and his co-accused last appeared in the Limpopo High Court in October 2024. Although the case was set down for two weeks, it was postponed again due to ongoing interlocutory applications. He faces charges in two separate cases in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, including money laundering, racketeering, illegal hunting, and dealing in rhino horn.
