Motor event saw thousands of visitors flock into the city
The recent Perth’s Classic Car weekend was a roaring success with thousands of extra visitors visiting the city centre.
The event, held on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 generated a huge increase in footfall movements across the city centre, highlighting Perth as a popular and vibrant destination for visitors.
Footfall data released by the council shows that movements on May 30 increased by 96.2 per cent compared to the previous Saturday and were 62.2 per cent higher than the same day last year, with 66,361 movements recorded overall.
Across the week beginning May 25, 213,664 footfall movements were recorded, showing an increase of 25.5 percent on the previous week.
The busiest period was around midday on Saturday, May 30, with more than 11,000 movements recorded within a single hour.
