Organised gang behind arson attacks during gangland feud are bringing terror to the streets of Scotland after fake cash drug deal

- BY NORMAN SILVESTER

THE name Tamo Junto sounds like something from a Netflix crime documentary on South American crime wars.

But the ruthless and violent crime group made up mainly of young men in their teens and early 20s is at the heart of Scotland’s gangland war.

In the last five months, they are said to have been responsible for a wave of firebombings and assaults in Edinburgh and Glasgow that, in one case, endangered the lives of a 12-year-old child and a 72-year-old woman who ended up in hospital.

The group are said to have been formed earlier this year by crime boss and former Rangers Union Bears leader Ross McGill to carry out reprisal attacks on people he thought responsible for ripping him off in a £500,000 cocaine deal allegedly paid for with fake money.

His targets have been members and associates of the Glasgow-based Daniel family including Edinburgh cocaine baron Mark Richardson.

However, in a move never seen before, Tamo Junto have been posting videos of the violence online with music and sinister spoken warnings

Each post concludes with an insignia of a fanged skull set against two crossed guns with the signature “TMJ 2025”, representing the gang's name or motto.

Terrifying footage shows masked thugs throwing petrol bombs through the windows of the properties and setting cars alight.

The gang appear to be operating with military precision reflecting the organisational strengths of their supposed leader.

Underworld contacts have told the Record that McGill has leaned on his experience as leader of the Union Bears to control his violent army.
