New £10m innovation campus set for Renfrewshire

- EDEL KENEALY

A near £10 million innovation campus will be built in Renfrewshire as part of efforts to stage the area as a world leader in manufacturing innovation.

The development, known as Tech Terrace, will be established at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) and will see organisations can work together to pioneer breakthroughs in manufacturing.

It will, experts say, meet a gap in the market for advanced research and development spaces while allowing smaller businesses to upscale their manufacturing.

In turn, it will drive economic growth in Renfrewshire and bring highly-skilled and well-paid jobs to the site, situated near Glasgow Airport.

The first phase will deliver units ranging from 2,000 sq. ft up to 16,000 sq. ft over a total area of 30,000 sq. ft, which is set to provide much needed space for organisations to scale in a supportive, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

AMIDS also offers bespoke design and build opportunities with planning permission in principle in place for up to 750,000 sq. ft of floorspace for high value advanced manufacturing.
