No excuses Councillor Danny Devlin wants to continue the crackdown on litterbugs and fly-tippers.

East Renfrewshire Council is set to carry out a big cleanup of Barrhead.

And the local community have been encouraged to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

The Barrhead Big Clean Up-taking place on Friday, October 24 - will see the local authority spend the day tackling litter and fly-tipping hot spots across the town as part of a bid keep East Renfrewshire beautiful.

East Renfrewshire continually scores high in litter cleanliness levels - achieving 94.9 per cent in 2024/25 - as measured by Keep Scotland Beautiful who monitor rubbish across Scotland.

However, the council insists it is not complacent and will continue to maintain standards.
