Stephen Robinson yesterday admitted he “couldn’t believe” St Mirren got a six-figure fee for Toyosi Olusanya - and promises the money will be a big help.
The Buddies cashed in on the 27-year-old on Wednesday following his move to MLS side Houston Dynamo for a reported £200,000.
It is dosh the club didn't bank on getting and now gaffer Robinson says it will help with his summer recruitment drive which is “well underway”.
Director of football Martin Foyle is already in the process of looking for a replacement for Olusanya after his switch to the United States.
Robbo (below) said: “Obviously we would prefer to keep Toyosi for the last five games but he certainly earned that move.
“He's a massive example to players for whom it doesn’t quite work when you first come in. The two words I use are hard work.
