Partnership brings summer of fun

Last week, I was delighted to attend the Royal Military Tattoo as a guest of the Royal Navy.

This involved a tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia, berthed at Leith Docks, before travelling to Edinburgh Castle where military bands from the UK forces and display teams from around the world showcased their skills and musical ability.

It was highly impressive to see and it’s understandable why the Tattoo is one of the highlights for international attendees of the Edinburgh Festival.

I was also, last week, pleased to pop along to the Scottish Gas Holiday Football Camp, hosted by Renfrew Victoria Football Club in Kirklandneuk.

This is a great initiative between Scottish Gas, St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation and the Scottish Football Association which provides week-long football camps during the school holidays.

The camps allow all kids access to play football and improve their skills, free of charge.
