Paisley MPs support welfare bill

Renfrewshire MPs voted to support the controversial welfare bill, it has been confirmed.

Official records show that Johanna Baxter, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South, and Alison Taylor, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, voted to support their Labour Party government.
The politicians, elected for the first time last year, were amongst 335 to back the bill and ensure it passed through the House of Commons.
It was in the end however a watered down version of the original proposals, with the UK Government having U-turned on the main part of its plans.
