COUNCIL LEADER IAIN NICOLSON
It was fantastic to receive confirmation that our application for the Belltrees project in Ferguslie Park had been successful as we continue to progress our regeneration of the area.
Thanks to our work with the local community, the council has been awarded £650,000 to restore 2.69 hectares of currently derelict land and turn it into a new multi-functional greenspace, which will include a natural play trail, event space and two new shared pedestrian and cycle routes linking to local schools and services.
In addition, there will be landscaping works, enhanced biodiversity and improvements made to drainage.
It’s the latest project in the Making of Ferguslie - a long-term, community-led framework developed in partnership with local residents to reimagine the area and deliver lasting change.
