'Vale gaffer McKim said: “We're disappointed not to win the game as we were three goals ahead although we played for 55 minutes a man down so it was still a decent point.

“We need to learn to defend better. We brought in a couple of new players and, once the boys all train together, then we will get better. We have a run of home games coming up starting with Glasgow Perthshire on Saturday and we hope to start getting more points on the board.”

'Vale opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Sean Daly hit home from 25 yards and he doubled the lead by taking advantage of a defensive slip in the 18th minute.

Andy Heaney pulled one back for Lugar with a neat finish although Michael McPeake, on loan from First Division Irvine Meadow, restored the two-goal advantage.
