Proud Robinson insists his never-say-die players deserve ultimate accolade in Paisley after sensational League Cup Final win over Celtic
Stephen Robinson last night insisted St Mirren's Hampden heroes deserve the freedom of Paisley.
The Northern Irishman led the Buddies to the fifth major honour in the club's 148-year history and only a second League Cup success.
A deserved 3-1 win over Celtic at the national stadium saw 13,500 black-and-white army members begin the celebrations which carried on in Paisley town centre.
And gaffer Robbo — who has been promised a lifetime membership of Vienna's nightclub — lavished praise on his super Saints who achieved immortality.
He said: "I think I've got the freedom of Vienna's, I know that. I've got that on a poster. I've got lifetime membership of Vienna's and my younger boy is devastated because he wants it!
"When you see banners, when you see the fans' reactions, I'm absolutely humbled.
