Robinson is putting Hampden on the backburner

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Stephen Robinson yesterday insisted St Mirren are focused on Premiership points and not cup final prestige.

The Buddies booked their place in next month's Premier Sports Cup showpiece with Celtic after beating Motherwell 4-1.

It will be the club's first appearance in the final of the competition since they won it in 2013.

Meanwhile, it will be Robbo's third final in eight years after going the distance in both the Scottish Cup and League Cup with Motherwell.

However, the tasty jam of a Hampden spectacular has been pushed to the side as Saints return to the bread-and-butter of league business with Hibernian in town tonight.
