Finn just misses out on apprentice of the year

West College student in the final for top industry prize
A West College Scotland student was nominated as a finalist for a prestigious award after standing out among thousands of people.
Finn MacArthur, 22, was recently named as one of the 10 people in the running to be crowned Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2025.
Having beaten more than 2,000 people to secure a place in the final, Finn had a chance to scoop top prize but unfortunately missed out.
Currently employed as an apprentice carpenter and joiner with Armitage Groundworks, the 22-year-old is studying his SVQ carpentry and joinery at West College Scotland’s Paisley campus.
