Fine show from Ferguslie during action-packed weekend

Ferguslie Cricket Club got a busy weekend off to a fine start with a 180-run Western Premiership One victory over Uddingston in an good all-round display.
Opening batters David Stafford and professional Mo Mayet set the ball rolling on Saturday with a stand of 75 which to give the Paisley side a strong platform.
And even when Mayet was the first to go, Stafford continued to accumulate runs until he was eventually out for 72.
The score continued to rise as skipper Taimoor Ahmad joined with Saif Sajjad for another significant partnership which saw both batters netting 50.
A final total of 285/7 was an excellent return with several batters, if not making half-centuries, contributing support to the heavy scorers on this occasion.
