Energetic kids had a ball at holiday camps
Paisley Daily Express
|May 02, 2025
Hundreds of young people across Renfrewshire took part in free and fun activity camps over the Easter holidays.
The scheme, which runs during school holidays, helps ensure children have access to sports and nutritious meals.
Activities were delivered by Street Stuff a partnership between the community learning and development team at Renfrewshire Council and St Mirren.
They offered a range of multi-sport and dance sessions in communities including Ferguslie, Foxbar, Gallowhill, Johnstone, Linwood and Renfrew.
The programme was open to local children aged five to 14 with 700 spaces available over the fortnight.
Activities included football, basketball, handball, hockey, tennis, badminton and dance.
A free, healthy lunch was provided to all children each day.
Most sessions took place outdoors and certainly benefitted from sunny spring weather for much of the fortnight.
