Councillor frustrated at speed of road repairs

A frustrated politician has claimed Renfrew residents"deserve better" as he takes aim at Renfrewshire Council over the number of roads set to be resurfaced in the town this year.
Cramond Avenue, Craigielea Road and Arkleston Road are among the 53 that are in line for a makeover in 2025/26 as part of the local authority's £90 million decade-long investment.
But Councillor Jamie McGuire, a Labour representative for Renfrew North and Braehead, was less than impressed by the area's coverage in the list shared earlier this month.
He said: "While any investment in our local infrastructure is welcome, it is clear that this falls far short of what residents deserve.
"Each week, I am inundated with concerns from constituents about potholes, crumbling footpaths and dangerous road surfaces across the town.
