A mum has told how her violent ex battered her “black and blue” and strangled her with an iPhone cable while she was heavily pregnant with their child.

Evil Steven Manson, 29, subjected Kirsty Nealis, 27, to a horrific campaign of domestic abuse between 2019 and 2024.

The thug launched multiple frenzied attacks on the mother throughout their relationship, including while she was 36 weeks pregnant with their unborn baby.

On February 9, Manson, from Paisley, admitted engaging in a course of behaviour where he repeatedly battered Kirsty, threatened her, kicked her down a set of stairs, held a pair of scissors against her neck and strangled her with a wire.

Within a heavy catalogue of horrific offences, he also admitted seizing her by the neck, knocking her to the ground and smashing her head across furniture.

Notorious thug Manson - who escaped a jail sentence in 2019 after throttling another ex partner in a shop - remains in custody and is due to be sentenced at Paisley Sheriff Court next month.

Speaking after his conviction, mum-of-one Kirsty, from Erskine, told our sister title The Daily Record: “Up until his arrest I was living in absolute terror.

“When I met Steven, he was great. But soon after, the cracks began to show and his mask slipped.

“His anger issues were awful and what started as name calling soon spiralled into him attacking me on a regular basis.

“The slightest issue would set him off.
