Renfrewshire Council will draw up an action plan as it continues its fight against poverty and the cost-of-living crisis over the next two years.

- JACK THOMSON, LOCAL DEMOCRACY REPORTER

The local authority intends to provide an overview of the Fairer Renfrewshire programme, setting out its priorities and activities for a period of up to 24 months.

The initiative is responsible for a range of crucial measures including breakfast clubs, school clothing grants, advice services and the Winter Connections scheme.

An update was provided on the council's aim to “sharpen the focus” of the work at the Fairer Renfrewshire subcommittee on Wednesday as it strives to break down the data and channel resources.

Laura McIntyre, head of policy and partnerships, said: “A key point I wanted to highlight to the subcommittee this morning was the work that we're intending to do around developing an action plan.
