Solar modules from Tata Power’s TN plant to lead Odisha’s clean energy transition

With abundant renewable resources and a forward-looking policy framework, Odisha is actively seeking strategic partnerships to harness its solar potential at scale. At the heart of this effort lies Tata Power's Tirunelveli facility in Tamil Nadu, India’s largest single-location 4.3 GW Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Plant, playing a vital role in powering this transition.

Tata Power is actively contributing to this vision by committing to the installation of over 3 lakh rooftop solar systems across Odisha in the next three years. Collaborating closely with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), Tata Power is driving awareness, localised training, and affordable financing to accelerate grassroots solar adoption. These efforts are aligned with the state’s clean energy roadmap that emphasises inclusive participation and accessibility for all.

With the transformation in power distribution and strong support from the state government under initiatives like PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Odisha is rapidly emerging as a frontrunner in the clean energy revolution. Notable advancements are being made in the promotion and adoption of rooftop solar solutions, turning the aspiration of a solar-powered future into a practical reality for countless households.
