With a view to empowering girl students, the Higher Education (HE) department has directed all District Collectors to identify and nominate “Shakti Apas” —a group of five distinguished female professionals in each district — under the state government’s flagship inititative ‘Shaktishree’.
In a letter, Higher Education Director Kaliprasanna Mahapatra Friday said the initiative is part of a broader government effort to provide mentorship, safety, and emotional support to female students in higher educational institutions (HEIs).
