'Dog babu', son of ‘kutta babu', gets residence cert
Orissa POST
|July 29, 2025
Amidst the ongoing controversy over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, a bizarre instance of administrative goof-up has come to the fore, as a residence certificate has been issued in the name of a four legged 'dog babu', born to parents with similar canine nomenclature, in Patna district.
The incident sparked widespread criticism and raised concerns about the security and credibility of the Right to Public Services (RTPS) portal.
This prompted a red-faced administration to lodge an FIR against all persons concerned.
The certificate of residence was issued last week in Masaurhi circle, falling under the eponymous subdivision, apparently as part of a scramble for such documents during the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.
