Tributes to ex-firefighter who died while on holiday

A RETIRED firefighter has died following a “tragic accident” while on holiday, the station where he spent three decades has said.

Steve Fullwood's death was announced on Thursday by Stapleford Fire Station, who described him as a “cracking and practical firefighter” who was well-known in the community.

Mr Fullwood started at the station back in 1991 and had a brief spell at Central Fire Station before retiring in September 2021. In a Facebook post, Stapleford Fire Station said it had taken a few weeks to “come to terms with this huge loss”.
