Transformed pub's place in finals

THE Lord Roberts has had a huge transformation both inside and out over the last six years.

When Craig Pennington-Hayes took over the pub as landlord he made it his mission to make it one of the city's most attractive and safest spots to drink.

The Hockley pub, a well established LGBTQ+ venue in Broad Street, Hockley, welcomes everyone and its popularity has led to numerous award nominations including Notts Bites best pub. The venue is one of four finalists in our food and drink awards.

"If I'm honest, I’m shocked that I've got to the final four so I'm feeling very humbled and grateful to those who nominated us," said Craig, who first drank at the pub over 30 years ago before making it his livelihood and home.
