Success is all in the family for Yamas

IT'S a real family affair at Yamas, one of Nottingham's most popular restaurants.
George Ktori is head chef while his brother Michael looks after front of house.
Although their father Savvas, who founded Yamas in 2008, has slowed down in recent years, he's still involved, mingling and serving customers.
Yamas, which means "cheers" in Greek, is the go-to place in the city centre for anyone seeking the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean. With relaxed but efficient, friendly service, regulars love it and had no hesitating in nominating it for best restaurant in our Notts Bites Awards, celebrating the county's diverse range of food and drink.
The restaurant, in Thurland Street, has moved with the times, adapting the menu to cater for dietary requirements and food trends. George said: "Our menu is now around 90% gluten-free. Our team of chefs have adapted dishes with gluten alternatives but haven't changed the quality and taste."
