A MARRIED 48-year-old Nottingham man who sexually assaulted three women in the pool area of a city hotel has been spared immediate prison.

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

Father-of-two Zia Khan was told he put the victims through "despicable behaviour" on his part.

The judge who sentenced him described how he came across as "arrogant" during his trial by telling the jury how each of his victims had made their claims up. But he added that, since his conviction and public outing in the media, he is "a different man" who feels humiliated by his actions.

Imposing a suspended prison sentence at Nottingham Crown Court, Judge Michael Auty KC said: “No man worthy of the name ever sexually assaults a woman, end of. It is despicable behaviour which was degrading and humiliating for them. You might say it is nothing more than a bit of fun for you but this can have the most profound and long-lasting effect on wholly innocent women.
