Slug & Lettuce closed for £450k facelift

A CITY centre bar is temporarily closed for a makeover.

It is six years since Slug & Lettuce opened in Long Row after a £450,000 transformation when it replaced Yates's Wine Lodge.
Back in 2019, the 19th century building was gutted and the old-fashioned decor was replaced with birdcage booths, pink flowers galore and neon signs over two floors.
Now it is undergoing refurbishment as part of a wider scheme by owners the Stonegate Group. It is scheduled to reopen on Friday September 26.
Bars in Milton Keynes and Durham are also among those getting a refurb before the end of the financial year.
