Simple way to check your health while out shopping

A NEW NHS-funded machine at the Victoria Centre gives anyone a chance to take a free five-minute check and learn about their health.

The SISU Health Station, on the upper floor of Boots, measures blood pressure, BMI, heart rate and body composition, and quizzes users on their exercise habits and alcohol intake.

People using the machine, which was officially unveiled on January 27, receive instant personalised feedback, potentially including advice to contact their pharmacy or GP for a followup check.

If they consent, it can also connect them directly to local stop-smoking or adult weight-management services.
