Shoplifter's £1,500 theft spree to feed drug addiction

A HOMELESS shoplifter, who has carried out an astonishing 266 offences over the last 29 years, stole more than £1,500 of booze, food and clothing during a spree across Nottingham.

Richard Brown, who has appeared in court 56 times before, targeted shops in West Bridgford, Chilwell, Lenton and the city centre. The 46-year-old twice entered the same premises on more than one occasion on the same day to take items to feed his longstanding cocaine addiction.
