FUNDING IS RUNNING OUT FOR CHARITY THAT PROVIDES MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS

A VITAL community kitchen in the heart of Hyson Green has launched an urgent appeal after its funding dropped dangerously low.

Shifting Your Mindset, based in the Hyson Green Community Centre, provides a meal service, outreach work, and service signposting to vulnerable communities.

The charity, which has been operating since 2021, specifically provides meals for homeless men. It also tries to guide people in poverty to a point where they can turn their lives around through what the founder calls "empowerment."

But the organisation has recently found itself struggling to make ends meet. While it has received funding in the past from the National Lottery Fund and other national organisations, this is not enough to sustain the level support it offers the local community.
