PERMISSION GRANTED FOR TWO EXTRA BEDROOMS TO ACCOMMODATE TWO COUPLES
91 Rosemary Street, Mansfield, (painted white) is the second house in its vicinity to be converted to an HMO in the past year
A FOUR-BEDROOMED house in Mansfield will become an eight-person HMO (house in multiple occupation) after councillors granted planning permission.
The three-storey hpise at 91 Rosemary Street, on the town’s inner ring road, was already a HMO with six bedrooms created for six single occupants.
But now, the bedrooms on the first floor will become bedrooms for two couples.
The move comes two months after Mansfield MP Steve Yemm raised the issue of HMOs in Parliament, claiming their prevalence was leading to fly-tipping and parking problems.
Architects Arkke Ltd state in the application to Mansfield District Council that the house is “already a high-end quality HMO with ample space and amenity facilities”.
