'Ridiculous' £100 charge for parking millimetres over line
Nottingham Post
|September 01, 2025
A SHOPPER was outraged after receiving a letter from NCP stating she had to pay £100 because her car's tyres touched the white line of a parking spot.
-
Lisa Henderson, 56, of Claypole, Lincolnshire, is a waitress on minimum wage who appealed against the charge because she didn’t understand why she had received it.
After NCP sent the evidence, Lisa initially thought it was a joke. Her car tyres admittedly just touched the line but were not infringing on the restricted space in the St Mark's Place car park, Newark.
Lisa explained that on Saturday, August 9, she had parked there to do some shopping, leaving her car there for around 30 minutes. The last thing the 56-year-old expected was a £100 charge.
