Peter back at chip shop that’s been in his family for 75 years

A POPULAR chippy has closed for a revamp and will reopen with a familiar face who has been absent for the past six years.

Owner Peter Georgiou will be back at the fryers at Plains Fish Bar in Mapperley after previously leasing the business to managers who have now left to run another fish and chip shop in north Notts.
The chippy, in Woodborough Road, will remain closed for the rest of this week for maintenance, new signs and a new shop front, which will give separate access for a new feature - click and collect - and the return of a delivery service which halted around a year ago.
