NOTTS County play only their second game of the new year as they travel south to face Crawley Town today (3pm) with new signings to welcome into the matchday squad.

Postponements due to frozen pitches have left the Magpies out of action for the last fortnight, allowing them to focus more on adding to the squad as head coach Martin Paterson keeps his players’ cogs churning on the training field.

Their next League Two opponents have been extremely busy in the January market so far, with eight completed transfers halfway through the month as they look to avoid back-to-back relegations.

Notts, on the other hand, have been a bit more considered but have done some important business themselves, with a new number one in the experienced James Belshaw alongside defensive and attacking reinforcements centre-back Luke Browne and winger Beck Ray-Enoru.

On the new arrivals, Paterson said:

“All of them have come in for a different purpose.
