Man was given access to other air passengers' boarding passes by booking site

A MAN was given access to dozens of other Ryanair passengers’ boarding passes in a major data breach by a third-party booking site.

- By JOEL MOORE

After having difficulties booking a trip to Benidorm through Holiday Globe, Stuart Cobb was given the firm’s login details, allowing him to scroll through the tickets of more than 50 fellow customers.

A spokesperson for Holiday Globe said the agent responsible for the breach “should not have done it” but had “good intentions’.

Meanwhile, Ryanair told the Post that the firm was not authorised to sell its flights and was a “prime example” of why passengers should book directly through airlines.

Mr Cobb, from Arnold, used the third-party booking site to find a cheap deal for him and his brother-in-law, who were going to a stag do.

Two weeks before he was due to fly from East Midlands Airport for the holiday, the 45-year-old was unable to retrieve his tickets through Ryanair, so an agent at Holiday Globe handed over the company’s email and password.
