PATERSON: NESS EXAMPLE OF IMPROVED STANDARDS

- By SAM ALLEN

Magpies' fine form is not just down to Luc

HEAD coach Martin Paterson believes the standards being set in preparation for games are driving Notts County's improved form.

The Magpies have lost just once in their last six league outings, with four victories in that time, including a 2-0 triumph over Cambridge United at home last weekend.

Two goals from the big Gambian striker Alassana Jatta secured another three points at Meadow Lane for Notts, who currently boast the joint-best home record in the division alongside the team they beat on Saturday.

Sixteen points out of a possible 21 on home turf is an impressive return, and what has helped them achieve that is a squad developing in both tactical and physical senses, with rotation players ready to come on and make an instant impact.
