JONES RECKONS MAGPIES WOULD HAVE BEATEN BROMLEY IF ROBERTSON HAD STAYED ON

- By SAM ALLEN

JODI Jones believes Notts County gave League Two leaders Bromley their toughest game yet this term in their top-of-the-table 1-1 draw at the weekend.

Jones' second-half penalty ensured the Magpies came away from the capital with a point after falling behind before the break, and the general feeling in camp was that Notts were on their way to victory before Scott Robertson's contentious late red card.

Head coach Martin Paterson felt the game was taken away from his side and Jones backed up that view, suggesting that Notts were on top of the game when the numbers on each side were equal.

"It was a good game," said Jones. "We knew what to expect. They're (Bromley) effective at what they do, which is why they are where they are but I thought we dealt with it quite well.
