OWNER WHITBREAD COULD WIELD AXE
THE future of a Nottinghamshire pub and several restaurants is uncertain as Premier Inn’s parent company is weighing up the closure of two UK chains.
The move, by Whitbread, could see it shut down its remaining Beefeater and Brewers Fayre restaurants, axing nearly 200 sites with 3,800 job losses.
The plan forms part of a new five-year strategy that will see the company attempt to achieve £250 million in cost reductions while restructuring its restaurant operations. The Mirror understands no final decisions regarding closures have been made.
