JUDGE JAILS CULPRITS FOR ‘ACT OF REVENGE’

- By MARTIN NAYLOR

E-bike couple were rammed, chased and 'could have died'

A COUPLE were chased, rammed. off the road and had their e-bike stolen during “an act of revenge” which “could have been a fatal collision”:

Nottingham Crown Court was told the female pillion passenger “felt like she was going to die” after being thrown into the middle of the road and injured because of the criminal actions of Dion Mayall and Daniel Phillips.

Their sentencing hearing was told how after mowing down the pair, Mayall was heard repeatedly shouting “this is my bike now” before the culprits picked up the £2,500 twowheeler, put it in the back of the car and drove off with it.

At the age of just 22, Mayall has amassed 20 court appearances for more than 60 offences.

Sentencing the duo, Judge Mark Watson said: “This, on any view, could have been a fatal collision. You deliberately collided with those two people on the e-bike and it is only by good fortune they were not injured any worse than they were. It was an act of revenge”
