Could you be the one to restore a person's hope?

My wife and I recently visited Montreal in Canada. Although Canada is mostly an English-speaking nation, the official language in Montreal is French.

As neither of us had progressed beyond O-Level French, we decided to brush up our language skills. My wife started an online French Language course, whilst I preferred the old-fashioned method of studying a French phrase book. I'm not sure how well we did, because every time we spoke French in Montreal the locals replied in perfect English!

We visited several churches in Montreal, including the awe-inspiring Notre-Dame Basilica and the impressive Saint Joseph's Oratory. In both these churches, along with many others around the city, we saw the phrase “Pèlerins de l'espérance” accompanied by a distinctive logo.

Despite our well-honed language skills(!!!), this phrase baffled us.
