Clean sheet boost as defenders pitch in for Magpies' win
Nottingham Post
|September 09, 2025
IT was a hard-fought victory and a clean sheet for Notts County at the weekend against Fleetwood Town to make it four games unbeaten after a tough start to the League Two campaign.
Defender Jacob Bedeau was at the centre of a battling performance by the Magpies to pick up their first clean sheet of the season and another three points at Meadow Lane.
The surface at Notts’ home ground was attacked by a fungal disease, which almost stopped the game from happening, but after surviving an inspection, the team did enough to persevere in the conditions and get the win.
Bedeau said: “I think because of the conditions, with the problems we've had with the pitch, we knew it wasn't going to be a normal game where we could play the football we like to play.
“At times, we did have to go a bit longer to AJ (Alassana Jatta) and Matty Dennis, which I think worked for the most part.
