Darron Childs and his victim clashed in Clumber Street

A NOTTINGHAM man slashed another man with a knife in the city centre in front of shocked witnesses.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Darron Childs and the victim clashed in Clumber Street before the weapon was produced.

Childs, who turned 26 this week, “swiped” it towards the other man, causing a slash wound to his hand, which left him needing hospital treatment.

Now the much-convicted criminal - with 78 offences against him dating back to when he was just 13 - has an anxious two-month wait to see if he will be sent to prison.

Laura Pitman, prosecuting, said the incident took place at around 9.15pm on November 11, last year.
