Building work on Category C prison expansion under way

THE main phase of construction has started on extending a prison, with work set to be complete in the next two years.
-
The plan is to accommodate 120 extra inmates at HMP Ranby, near Retford, by building two modular house blocks.
Each block will be two-storey and have space for 60 beds. The plans will be delivered around the same time as an expansion of HMP Humber.
Alongside the extra space for inmates, a new workshop will be created in the current prison building.
