PEOPLE in Strelley want a stronger crackdown on speeding after a car crashed into a family's living room.

City council chiefs say restrictions are already in force, but that they “rely on reasonable behaviour from drivers”.

A 22-year-old man was arrested after the car left a busy roundabout and crashed into a house in Flamsteed Road in the early hours of Sunday, August 17.

Mother-of-four Alex Richardson has recalled her shock when it happened.

People in the area said there had been three serious crashes in five years and want current traffic-calming measures - which include wide speed bumps and give-way speed bumps - to be reviewed

David Wardle, 43, who has lived in the area all his life, called on Nottingham City Council to push for more to be done about screeching cars on the estate.
