SWIMMERS in North Devon have expressed their sadness after a Christmas day swim in East Devon ended in tragedy with two men lost at sea.

The Ilfracombe Christmas Day dip was able to take place safely and without event, largely due to its sheltered harbour location.
It saw dippers take the plunge at Ilfracombe Harbour to support the lifesaving work of the RNLI. But high winds and freezing temperatures tested even the most experienced sea dippers.
