A cameo of 38 in just 21 balls by Andre Russell had boosted KKR as they stepped on the gas in the death overs. Russell holed out to Dewald Brevis at long-off off Noor Ahmad, leaving the home side at 149/5 after 17 overs.
The next over by Pathirana went for 14 but Noor put the skids on KKR by removing Rinku Singh for nine in the penultimate over to end with figures of 4/31. Earlier, KKR lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz cheaply after electing to bat, with Anshul Kamboj having him caught by Noor at midwicket for 11 in the second over.
