Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata are seeing a significant spike in new covid patients.

The number of active reported covid-19 cases surged to 3,395 till 31 May, according to the health ministry's online tracker. Four people have succumbed to the infection, according to the health ministry covid-19 portal.

In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 685 new infections. Kerala reported the highest number 1,339, followed by Maharashtra (467), Delhi (375), Gujarat (265), Tamil Nadu (185), Karnataka (234), Uttar Pradesh (117), Rajasthan (60), West Bengal (205) and Puducherry (41).
