IITs wary of recruiters delaying joining dates of students

Mostly, it had been cos with large exposure to the US economy that had delayed joining dates for the class of 2023
Indian Institutes of Technology, running the placement programme this year, have urged recruiters to ensure that there is no delay in onboarding selected candidates.
A section of students from IIT-Kanpur's placement team, in fact, told Mint that they have informed recruiting companies that if they were to defer onboarding beyond a certain period they will be blacklisted.
The students sought anonymity.
The premier engineering colleges are wary of a possible recurrence of delays in joining dates of the fresh recruits similar to what was experienced by the previous graduating batch due to a slowdown in certain sectors.
Students from some of the other engineering schools, who were selected during the campus hirings last year joined later this year.
As such, the IITs are bracing for a sobering placements season this year.
