As of 30 June, 11,913 FPIs Held ₹80.83 Trillion in Assets, with SWAGAT-FIs Contributing Over 70%

- PTI

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has made two key proposals with an aim to boost investment flows and simplify compliance in the Indian securities market. Through these plans, the regulator looks to expand resident Indians' participation in schemes for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and also introduce a single-window framework to simplify market access for low-risk foreign investors.

The first proposal aims to allow retail schemes based in International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs), sponsored or managed by resident Indian non-individuals and mutual funds, to register as FPIs, broadening Indians' participation in international investment vehicles.
