On peritoneal dialysis at home? Check the insurance terms first

I was recently advised to undergo peritoneal dialysis, which is a form of dialysis that is done at home.

However, my insurance provider has informed me that dialysis is only covered under my policy if it is done in a hospital, with a minimum of 24 hours of admission. I have been told this treatment is expensive and must be done every month. Given these conditions, I am not sure whether it will be covered by my insurer.

Can you clarify whether home-based peritoneal dialysis is eligible for insurance coverage? Also, what is the correct way to file a claim for this treatment so that it is not rejected?
